Some car buyers have always held fuel economy as a top priority when searching for their next vehicle. However, with the rising popularity of hybrids and pure-electric vehicles combined with fluctuating gas prices, more drivers than ever are looking to save at the pump. For Volvo, improved fuel economy is a byproduct of the automaker's efforts to help ensure a more sustainable automotive future.

As Volvo strives towards its goal of a 50% plug-in hybrid and 50% pure-electric lineup by 2025, the company is already well on its way, with all but one of its nameplates offering a Recharge PHEV or Pure Electric variant. And for the 2023 model year, Volvo is taking another step forward by replacing all T4, T5, and T6 powertrains with new B4, B5, and B6 mild hybrids. If you're looking to increase the efficiency and decrease the emissions of your daily drives, Volvo Cars of Perrysburg has compiled a list of tips for improving gas mileage. The page also contains a summary of Volvo's current Recharge lineup. Here's a quick look at a few of the highlights:

Volvo Recharge Extended Range Plug-in Hybrids

Beginning with the 2022 model year, Volvo's Recharge Plug-in Hybrid lineup offers a new Extended Range variant that boosts output to 455 horsepower and 523 pound-feet of torque. And thanks to a larger 18.8-kWh battery pack, these models can travel farther on just electricity, making them a great choice for Sylvania drivers looking to try out pure-electric automobility without fully committing to only battery power.
